Hello, and welcome to Elements Retirement Living. Elements @ Springwood and Elements @ Con Noi Carindale offer over 50’s living at its best.
The Elements journey began in 2003 when founder Ms Chiou See Anderson secured a parcel of land within the Daisy Hill Koala Habitat. Guided by a vision to create more than just a retirement village, she set out to build a community where residents could thrive, connect, and truly feel at home in their third age.
Today, Elements Retirement Living proudly encompasses two boutique retirement villages in Brisbane: Springwood and Con Noi Carindale. In March 2025, ownership of Elements transitioned from one family business to another. Now owned by directors Bill Hunter and Chris Maley, they bring over 22 years of industry experience managing Laguna Retirement Estate in Noosaville. Son, Adam Hunter leads the operation of the Elements villages and continues the business's commitment to personalised care, strong community values, and high-quality retirement living.
The village was painstakingly planned and designed to promote resident wellbeing in five key areas; physical, spiritual, social, psychological and financial.
In 2010 the vision came to life when Elements Retirement Living at Springwood opened its doors and welcomed its first residents.
Chiou See Anderson’s hand-on approach to management and close relationships with Elements’ residents has seen the success of her design philosophy evolve to include 123 single storey villas hidden among a spacious 48,100m2 of land.
An alignment of philosophies about how retirement villages should operate, made Con Noi Village at Carindale the perfect fit for Chiou See Anderson’s retirement asset portfolio.
Ms Anderson, the owner-operator of Elements @ Springwood Retirement Village has recently acquired the boutique village from the Vacenti group, for an undisclosed amount.
To be renamed Elements @ Con Noi Carindale, Ms Anderson said it was fortuitous that she would take ownership on February 1 which is the first day of the Chinese Year of the Tiger.
We are a family here at Elements, and pets, great and small, are part of that dynamic and are always welcome.
To those residents requiring assisted living, Elements introduced additional care and support, which can easily be delivered without the need to alter our modern two and three bedroom homes. We have also formed partnerships with well-respected and trusted health, security and care providers.
Third Age Living – Elements Retirement Villages Brisbane are retirement living for this stage of your life.
Hello, and welcome to Elements Retirement Living. Our village, nestled amidst the eucalypt trees of the Daisy Hill forest, is located in Springwood, a southern suburb of Brisbane in Queensland, Australia. We are approximately 21km from the Brisbane CBD and 53km to the Gold Coast.
The village includes a community / wellness centre, zen garden and close proximity to a range of shops, cafes, hospitals, golf courses, major shopping centres, local pubs and clubs, schools, places of worship, public transport and personal services and amenities.
The site where Elements is today was formerly the John Paul College playing fields and backs on to the Daisy Hill State Forest. Conservation of the local flora and fauna is important to us with Elements donating over 11 hectares of this bushland for public use. Our village grounds have been planted with natives to attract birds and bees and the entire village is fauna-friendly-fenced, so local wallabies can visit freely.
Connectivity is one of the key features of Elements where the design philosophy focuses on fostering wellbeing.
We have our own private, next-generation fibre optic network enabling residents to access the fastest possible internet speeds. We introduced what we believe is an Australian first and an initiative we are proud of- a personal tablet, cloud based communication hub allowing residents to connect to each other and village management.
We really are a community within a community.

Dana Voyle is a key member of our group management team at Elements. Having worked in IT in New Zealand for fifteen years, she migrated to Australia with her family 15 years ago. Since then, she has worked in education and spent over ten years in the over 50s and retirement industries bringing her valuable experience to Elements four years ago.
Dana is married to Rodney and they have two daughters. Although the rest of both their families are still in New Zealand she loves it when they come to visit. When she’s not entertaining visiting family and friends, she is out and about keeping active in body and mind. She appreciates the combination of great food, great wine and great company.
Dana’s says her job never feels like work; the surroundings are stunning; my team is incredible and our community is amazing.
Christopher Anderson has been a part of the Elements family since his mother founded and built Elements @ Springwood. An electrician by trade, Chris returned to the business 3 years ago to oversee village operations at Elements @ Con Noi Carindale.
He has been in and out of the business for nearly 20 years, taking time out to pursue his own goals of career, travel, and love having married is partner Rika who are both proud parents to baby Eli.
With the addition of Elements @ Con Noi Carindale, having Chris with his industry experience and understanding of the ‘Elements way’ has proved invaluable to the business.
Born in Singapore, Chiou See arrived in Brisbane in 1988 to complete her Accounting degree at QUT. Over the next 15 years, she had a variety of careers spanning from managing a 2 site Ford dealership, accounting for an Italian coal mining company and marketing for a large Queensland legal firm before starting a business advisory consulting business.
During her business advisory career, Chiou See’s clients included family businesses, the Queensland government and various construction industry unions. A subsequent business review of the Royal Queensland Aero Club resulted in a full-time appointment. During the 5-year tenure, an international flying school and an aircraft engineering school were added to the portfolio and Chiou See successfully secured the first overseas airline training contract to Brisbane in the early 2000s.
In 2003, whilst completing her MBA, Chiou See’s class modelled the aggregate purchasing power of the world’s ageing population. Later that year, she secured a block of land in the Daisy Hill koala habitat with a view to starting a retirement village. A development application refusal resulted in a lengthy and costly appeal in the Planning & Environment Court. The preliminary court approval was finally handed down in Jan 2007 with final negotiations concluding in Mar 2008.
Two weeks before the commencement of the trial in 2006, Chiou-See was awarded a doctoral scholarship at Bond University as a member of an Australian Research Council team into housing options for the Australian ageing population. Much of that research and data fed into the re-design and conceptualisation of what Elements is today.
Elements finally opened in September 2010. Today, there are 108 homes, a state-of-the-art Clubhouse, amazing gardens and over 150 residents. Construction of the balance of 15 homes started in October 2017 with an estimated completion date of June 2018.
In 2010, Chiou-See was recognised by the Urban Development Institute of Australia as a Rising Star. In 2013, she won the inaugural Gold Coast Women in Business Innovation Award for her contributions to her industry. Finally in 2017, Elements received a special commendation Award for Innovation in at the Property Council of Australia’s National Retirement Living Awards.
Chiou See is a qualified CPA with an MBA and an abandoned PhD. She is also a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She is mother to Christopher – an Electrical Apprentice, Jessica – a Sports Science graduate turned happy Barista and Olivia – an aspiring Accountant.
Life Philosophy? Living your life is like running a business – Have a go and make sure to do good along the way and at the end of the day, try to end up with more debits than credits
Olivia Anderson works in Village Management across the villages. She has a Bachelor of Commerce from Bond University and is currently undertaking her Certified Practising Accountant’s studies. Soon, she will be able to add her CPA status to her years of experience in the hospitality and retail industries.
Olivia knows all about our village as she used to live in a caravan with her mother right on the spot where the complex is built. Through the years she’s seen our village grow and mature with great interest and admiration and is now part of the wonderful community it has become. Olivia has worked at Elements in various capacities ever since our first residents moved in and considers our village to be her second home. When she’s not working together with and assisting our residents in all aspects of administrative work, Olivia likes to read, practice yoga and go to the beach. Spending time with friends and family also comes high up on her list of most important activities.
Olivia likes to live according to the words of the American transcendentalist Ralph Waldo Emerson who said, “the purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honourable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.”
